CORINNE, Utah, Jan. 1, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A male juvenile died Sunday night, and two others were injured when the dirt bikes they were riding on a farm access road collided head-on shortly before 9 p.m.
The boys are 14, 15 and 16 years old.
The Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office released a statement saying two of the boys were riding one motorcycle, and one was on the other motorcycle.
According to the sheriff’s office, it appears that neither bike had a headlight.
The release also states:
“There is evidence that there were at least two helmets worn but unknown by who. The motorcycles hit head on causing serious injuries to two and one was fatal at the scene.”
The two youths who had serious injuries were stabilized at the scene and transported by helicopter to area hospitals.
The sheriff’s office had no information as to their condition very early Monday.
According to the news release, the parents and grandparents of the boys were at the scene.
There was no immediate evidence of impairment at this point in the investigation, the sheriff’s office said.
