KEARNS, Utah, March 18, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A 16-year-old from Kearns was killed in what officials are calling an “accidental shooting” as he and his brother played with a shotgun Monday morning.
Sgt. Melody Gray of the Unified Police Department told Gephardt Daily officials responded to a home in the area of 5000 West and 5400 South at approximately 8:15 a.m.
Gray said the two brothers were playing with a shotgun when the 16-year-old brother accidentally shot himself.
No further details were released by officials. It’s not clear at this early stage who the shotgun belonged to.
The identity of the teen has not been released.
