Utah, Dec. 15, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — Power outages caused by the winter storm have impacted thousands of homes and business in northern Utah.
The outages began about 10:30 p.m. when there were about 13,000 customers from Logan to Salt Lake City without electricity, according to the Rocky Mountain Power website.
As of 4:45 a.m. Wednesday there were just under 6,000 outages being reported, but Rocky Mountain Power posted a message on its website telling customers to be ready for “scattered outages across Utah due to the extreme weather conditions. Please prepare to be without power through tonight and into tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon.”
The majority of the outages were first reported Tuesday between 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m., when heavy snow began to fall across northern Utah.
