Many look forward to this day, and with the invention of social media, it has become an incredibly popular event. But IHOP wants to make sure others understand and remember exactly why they do this every year.
IHOP’s National Pancake Day celebration started in 2006 and it’s not just a day they just wanted to give away their famous cakes. This is the company’s largest philanthropic event of the year, and they use this day as a way to raise money for charity.
Since the start of their campaign a decade ago, they have raised almost $16 million to support charities in the communities in which each restaurant operates.
On March 3, 2015, guests from around the country will celebrate a “Decade of Giving” and enjoy a free short stack of Buttermilk pancakes. In return for the free pancakes, guests will be asked to consider leaving a donation for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals© or other designated local charities.
In addition, guests who make a $5 donation will receive a coupon good for $5 off their next visit.
The offer is valid for one stack of buttermilk pancakes at the nearly 1,500 participating restaurants for dine in only from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
