Feb. 23 (UPI) — The 2017 awards show circuit comes to a close on Sunday with the 89th Academy Awards.
Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling‘s musical La La Land leads the pack of Oscar contenders with 14 nominations including Best Picture.
Also nominated are other awards season favorites Fences, Moonlight, and Manchester by the Sea.
Time: Red carpet coverage begins at 7 p.m. The show itself starts at 8:30 p.m.

Host: Late night TV show fixture Jimmy Kimmel will host for the first time.

Other notable info: For the first time in Academy history, black actors are nominated in each acting category — a noticeable change after last year’s #OscarsSoWhite controversy. Actress Viola Davis also holds the distinction of becoming the first black actress to nab three Oscar nominations.
