Dec. 3 (UPI) — Billie Eilish has been named Apple Music’s Global Artist of the Year for 2019.

Apple announced in a press release Monday that Eilish, 17, will be honored and perform Wednesday at the first-ever Apple Music Awards at Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, Calif.

Eilish also received Album of the Year for her debut studio album, “When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?,” released in March. The album was the most-played album on Apple Music this year, with more than a billion streams.

In addition, Eilish and her brother, Finneas O’Connell, will receive the Songwriter of the Year award.

Apple Music also awarded Lizzo with Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Lil Nas X with Song of the Year for “Old Town Road.”

“The Apple Music Awards are designed to recognize the passion, energy and creativity of the world’s favorite artists,” Apple vice president of Apple Music and international content Oliver Schusser said. “The musically diverse group of inaugural winners have sparked deep social conversation, influenced culture and inspired our customers around the world. We couldn’t be more excited to celebrate them.”

Eilish confirmed the news in a tweet Monday. Apple released a video featuring footage from Eilish’s music videos and concerts.

“Billie is @AppleMusic’s Artist of the Year #AppleMusicAwards2019,” the post reads.

“When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” features the singles “You Should See Me in a Crown,” “When the Party’s Over” and “All the Good Girls Go to Hell.” Eilish most recently released the song “Everything I Wanted” in November.

Eilish is nominated for six awards at the 2020 Grammy Awards.
