LOS ANGELES, March 17 (UPI) — Erin Andrews made her first television appearance since winning $55 million in a lawsuit after she was secretly recorded in a Nashville hotel room.
The Fox Sports reporter appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Thursday night to thanks fans for their support and discuss the aftermath of the emotional court battle between herself and her stalker Michael David Barrett and the owner of the Nashville Marriott hotel.
After Kimmel jokingly asked Andrews for $1 million on air, the television personality said “I don’t have any money. I have not signed a new contract with ‘Dancing (With The Stars),’ but my Fox contract is up.”
“This is kind of my come out of hiding,” Andrews said. “I want to thank everybody. There were so many people that reached out all over the world and were so supportive.”
Earlier this month, Andrews released a statement after winning the lawsuit — which focused on a nude video of Andrews secretly recorded by Barrett — thanking the Nashville court, its personnel and the jury for their work.
“The support I’ve received from the people of Nashville has been overwhelming. I would also like to thank my family, friends, and legal team. I’ve been honored by all the support from victims around the world. Their outreach has helped me be able to stand up and hold accountable those whose job it is to protect everyone’s safety, security and privacy.”
