LOS ANGELES, March 10 (UPI) — CBS and The CW have released the first promotional image and synopsis for their upcoming Supergirl and Flash crossover special.
“Kara gains a new ally when #TheFlash crosses over to Supergirl on Monday, March 28 at 8/7c on CBS!,” the official Flash Facebook page noted alongside a comic book inspired poster featuring the two heroes racing against each other.
“Who is the fastest person alive? Read…The race between Supergirl & The Flash,” the comic book heading reads.
The image pays homage to the cover of Superman #199 from August 1967 which featured the Man of Steel racing against the Scarlet Speedster in similar fashion.
In the crossover episode entitled “World’s Finest,” “Supergirl joins forces with a lightning-fast—and super dreamy—hero, The Flash to take out two villains,” reads the official synopsis. “Lost and confused after spiraling from his universe and landing in Kara’s, The Flash asks for her help in finding his way back home.”
“Excited to finally come face-to-face with one of the good guys, Kara agrees on one condition: The super-runner has to help her take down her ultra-competitive co-worker and screeching malefactor Siobhan, aka Silver Banshee, and Supergirl’s old nemesis, Livewire,” it continues.
Supergirl airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on CBS while The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on The CW. On Tuesday, Supergirl was renewed by CBS for a second season.
