ST. JOHN’S, Antigua and Barbuda, Nov. 22 (UPI) — Prince Harry received a surprise offer to spend his prospective honeymoon in Antigua on Monday.

The 32-year-old British royal was reportedly left red-faced after the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne, encouraged him to honeymoon with girlfriend Meghan Markle in the Caribbean.

“I am told that there may be a new princess and I just want to say that should you make the decision to honeymoon — then Antigua and Barbuda want to welcome you,” Browne told Prince Harry at an event in Antigua.

“We have been voted consistently as the best honeymoon destination in the Caribbean — and one of the best in the world — so there will be nowhere in the world as special to spend your honeymoon when that day arrives,” he added.

People reported Prince Harry “winced a little” and “fiddled with his shirt to avoid eye contact” after the prime minister’s invitation, which was made in front of 300 guests. Browne later told reporters he thinks the royal and Markle make a “very good looking couple,” according to E! News.

“Yes, I heard about her, and I hear they are speculating that they will now get married. I hope that Harry and Meghan come here for some quiet time very soon,” he said.

Prince Harry and Markle, a 35-year-old American actress known for playing Rachel Zane on “Suits,” were first linked in October and confirmed their relationship earlier this month. Markle wrapped filming on Season 6 this week during Prince Harry’s trip to the Caribbean.

“We wrapped season 6 of #suits at 5:30am today!” she wrote Sunday on Instagram. “Congrats to the incredible cast and crew. Thank you for an amazing season – and now it’s time for breakfast.”
