LOS ANGELES, March 23 (UPI) — Reese Witherspoon rounded out her 40th birthday by celebrating with fellow actress Nicole Kidman.
The Wild star enjoyed an intimate dinner with her 48-year-old contemporary Tuesday evening. Witherspoon turned 40 the same day, and also celebrated at a star-studded party over the weekend.
“This is 40 … I am one lucky gal,” the actress captioned a photo of herself with Kidman.
Kidman, her husband Keith Urban, and actresses Kate Hudson, Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox were among the stars who attended Witherspoon’s birthday bash Saturday at the Warwick in Los Angeles. Urban and singer Taylor Swift performed.
“Although there were a lot of big names, the party felt fun, relaxed and natural,” a guest told Page Six. “She looked like she had the time of her life.”
Witherspoon and Kidman will co-star in the HBO limited series Big Little Lies, which is based on the Liane Moriarty novel of the same name. The actresses will co-executive produce with Moriarty and David E. Kelley (The Practice).
Big Little Lies focuses on three suburban mothers (Witherspoon, Kidman and Laura Dern) with children at the same elite school. The characters’ seemingly perfect lives begin to unravel after a fundraising event turns violent.
Witherspoon will also star in Downsizing with Matt Damon and voice Rosita in the animated movie Sing. Kidman, meanwhile, is slated for Genius with Jude Law, How to Talk to Girls at Parties with Elle Fanning and Lion with Dev Patel.
