Sofia Vergara Open to Having Kids with Joe Manganiello
LOS ANGELES – May 19, 2015 (UPI) — Sofia Vergara is open to having children with fiancé Joe Manganiello.
The 42-year-old actress revealed as much in an interview for the June issue of Redbook. Vergara is already mother to 22-year-old son Manolo by ex-husband Joe Gonzalez, and told the magazine she would be interested in kids with Manganiello.
“Joe is younger than me. He’s 38. He’s never had kids,” she related. “How am I going to say no [to children]? I tell him if we’re going to do this, we have to do it, like, now, because I don’t want to be 50 with a baby.”
Vergara and Gonzalez had been married three years when they divorced in 1993. The actress later became engaged to businessman Nick Loeb, who is fighting for custody of the embryos he and Vergara froze during their relationship.
“I finally realized that relationships don’t need to be so much work,” the star said of her healthy dynamic with Manganiello. “Ever since we met, it’s been so easy. I’m very suspicious. I’m like, ‘It’s not normal that we’ve been together for nine months and we haven’t had a big fight or anything.”
Vergara currently portrays Gloria Delgado Pritchett on ABC sitcom Modern Family. The series co-stars Ty Burrell, Julie Bowen, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Ed O’Neill, and was renewed for a seventh season earlier this month.
