UTAH – October 30, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – A 17-year-old girl is in serious condition but expected to survive after an accident on Mountain View Corridor at Old Bingham Highway Friday afternoon.

A spokesman for West Jordan Police said her car left the road for an unknown reason which caused it to roll. The victim was transported to hospital in serious condition, but is expected to survive.

Speed is not thought to have been a factor in the accident, which happened just before 4 p.m.

The crash comes just one day after a Herriman High School sophomore student was killed on Mountain View Corridor at 14400 South. Cadee Connor, a member of the Herriman High girl’s lacrosse team, was 16 years old. Three others are in serious to critical condition following the rollover accident in Herriman Thursday afternoon.

Unified Police said a Dodge pickup carrying three Herriman High School girls entered the intersection of 14400 South and Mountain View Highway when the light turned green. But a white Mazda allegedly ran a red light, smashed into the passenger side of the pick-up, and caused it to roll over.

Investigators said Connor was sitting in the front passenger seat of the pick-up. The two other high school girls are hospitalized in serious condition but expected to recover.

The driver of the Mazda, a woman in her 20s, was taken to the hospital where she is listed in serious to critical condition. She had a baby strapped into a car seat in the back of the Mazda who police say appears to have escaped without any injuries. The baby was taken to the hospital for observation. The Mazda driver is reportedly the baby’s aunt.
