OGDEN, Utah, March 31, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Fire crews from Ogden and South Ogden fire departments responded to a structure fire on Rushton Street at about 12:40 a.m. Sunday.
The fire was found to be in the basement of the home at 1185 Rushton St., and crews were able to extinguish it quickly. According to information from the Ogden Fire Department, the fire originated in a fireplace.
All of the occupants of the residence were safely evacuated and there were no injuries.
Crews were performing cleanup and overhaul at 1:20 a.m. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
Damage is estimated at $30,000.
Seventeen firefighters from Ogden and South Ogden responded with two ladder trucks, two engines, an ambulance, a paramedic rescue, and the battalion chief.
