Police Seek Public’s Help in Finding Homicide Suspect

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – June 11, 2015 – (Gephardt Daily) The Salt Lake City Police Department is seeking the public’s help in finding a man wanted for questioning in the June 1 death of Anthony Paul Hernandez.

SLCPD had originally questioned Christian Fuentes regarding the death which occurred at 804 N. Riverside Drive, but later released him. They are now looking to identify a man in a photo getting on a UTA bus.

Hernandez, 36, was found by a passer-by around 3:30 p.m. Hernandez, who was listed as homeless, was found between the trail that runs along the river and the river bank. “We know he has been in the Salt Lake Area since at least 2014, but prior to that, we are unsure where he is from,” said Detective Greg Wilking.

Hernandez’ body showed signs of trauma, but police would not elaborate.

Police are asking if anyone has information as to the whereabouts of  Hernandez the Sunday before and the hours leading up to his death on Monday they are urged to call police to help them figure out what happened.

They are also looking to identify and interview the male pictured at the top about the homicide and ask the public who may have any information to please call 801.799.3000 case number 15-96781.
