TAYLORSVILLE, UTAH – October 31, 2015 – Gephardt Daily — A 14-year-old girl was hit and killed by a van while trick-or-treating in Taylorsville Saturday night.
She’s been identified as Victoria Hillman, a resident of Taylorsville and a student at Bennion Jr. High.
According to Unified Police Department Precinct Chief Tracy Wyant, the teen was hit shortly after 7 p.m. while crossing the street with a group of friends near 5930 South and 2700 West.
Chief Wyant said Hillman was in a crosswalk heading east on 2700 West when she was hit by the southbound van.
Police say the driver of the van remained at the accident site and was cooperating with investigators. They say there was no outward evidence impairment was a factor in what they are calling a tragic accident.
