CENTERVILLE, UTAH – July 20, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Centerville Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a Kaysville man wanted in a stolen handgun case that unfolded over the weekend.

Officers were called to a home on Sunday where the homeowner reported two handguns that had been stolen from his residence. Police were able to determine that the handguns were stolen by two teenage males, one of which was the victim’s nephew.

With the assistance of one of the teenagers, officers were led to a trail in the foothills above Centerville where they found one of the handguns had been concealed under a rock.

After further investigation, officers discovered that the other handgun had been traded for drugs to individuals who were staying at the Motel 6 in Woods Cross.

While serving out a search warrant at the motel, one adult male ran from the motel room and was able to escape.

Two other occupants of the hotel room were arrested, and the outstanding stolen gun was recovered.

Three juvenile males were booked into Farmington Bay Youth detention and one adult male, Gerald Grant, a 19-year-old from Florida, was booked into Davis County Jail. All are being charged with possession of a stolen firearm.

Police are now searching for the other adult male, identified as 20 year old Eli Emery Boice of Kaysville, who ran from the hotel. He is described as 6’2”, 170 lbs with green eyes and brown hair. Anyone with information on Eli Boice’s whereabouts should contact Centerville Police at 801-292-8441.
