WEST BOUNTIFUL, Utah, Jan. 10, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews contained a fire at Holly Refinery in West Bountiful on Thursday.

The incident began at the oil and natural gas company at 1070 W. 500 South at approximately 10:45 a.m.

“Just a small fire at Holly Refinery,” West Bountiful City posted on Facebook. “There is no need to for residents to evacuate. Fire Department is on scene working the fire.”

South Davis Metro Fire tweeted at approximately 11:15 a.m. the fire was contained and fire crews were working with the plant fire department.

“Our command staff is working inside the plant with the plant management,” the tweet said.

No one was injured in the course of the fire.

It was subsequently found that a tube that feeds small quantities of gas to a sensor had leaked.

A nearby road, 800 West, was closed due to the fire department’s hoses being connected to hydrants, but was reopened by 1 p.m.
