Wildfire burns 150 acres near Deer Creek Reservoir

DEER CREEK RESERVOIR, Utah, July 11, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews are on the scene of a wildfire that has burned 150 acres near Deer Creek Reservoir and is growing, officials said Wednesday afternoon.

Utah Fire Info tweeted that air support from the nearby Dollar Ridge Fire is being diverted to the new wildfire, which was first reported at approximately 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Utah State Parks tweeted the boat ramps at Deer Creek State Park have been closed due the wildfire. Boats are being cleared from the water at this time.

“Other options to boat include Jordanelle, Rockport, Echo, and Utah Lake State Parks,” the tweet said.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
