SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah, Feb. 3, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A 42-year-old Eagle Mountain man was arrested after police say he sexually abused a 17-year-old coworker in Saratoga Springs.

Udeme S. Udodong is facing one charge of second-degree felony forcible sexual abuse, according to a probable cause statement released by Utah County.

The probable cause statement said officers responded to a business address in Saratoga Springs on Wednesday to a report of a sexual assault. Officers made contact with the female victim, who reported she had been assaulted by an adult male coworker.

“The female victim reported that she and Udodong were closing the store, when he asked her to come help him clean the back room,” the statement said. “The female victim stated that Udodong forced her by pressing her tight to his body; he began touching her body under her clothing.”

He then continued to touch her inappropriately.

“The female victim reported that while he was assaulting her, she kept asking him to stop and struggled to get away,” the statement goes on. “She finally pulled away and he kept asking her to come into the bathroom with him, but she did not.”

Officers made contact with Udodong, and after being read his Miranda rights, he admitted to touching the female victim, the probable cause statement said.

“He also stated he was sorry for what he had done,” the statement said.

Udodong has no ties to Utah or the United States, the probable cause statement said. He comes from Nigeria and is trying to get his wife and three children into the country.

Police requested a higher bail amount because they believe Udodong is a flight risk.

Udodong was transported to Utah County Jail with his bail set at $15,000.
