Eagle Mountain man, four passengers transported to hospital after vehicle rolls on I-15 in Idaho

MALAD, Idaho, Sept. 8, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — A man from Utah and the four passengers in his vehicle were transported to the hospital Monday after the vehicle  overturned on southbound Interstate 15 north of Malad.

A news release from Idaho State Police says the accident occurred at about 1:53 p.m. at mile marker 23 on I-15.

Efrain Hernandez, 45, of Eagle Mountain, Utah, was driving a 1995 GMC Yukon pulling a 20-foot travel trailer.

He lost control of the vehicle and it overturned, coming to rest on its top in the right lane of travel, according to the news release.

“Hernandez and his four passengers were transported by ground ambulance to Oneida County Hospital in Malad City,” the news release states. “All occupants were wearing seat belts except for one juvenile.”

The right lane of travel was blocked for approximately four hours.
