Gang detectives investigating after shots fired in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Aug. 5, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Gang detectives are investigating after shots were fired in Salt Lake City in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A news release from the Salt Lake City Police Department said the incident occurred in the area of 1874 W. North Star Drive just after 1:45 a.m.

“During a party, there was a confrontation between two rival groups over a girl,” the news release said. “One group left the party and went out to their vehicles, where a person retrieved a gun and began shooting.”

Someone from inside the house also produced a gun and began shooting, the news release said.

“The one group quickly drove off in their vehicles,” the news release said. “There was no damage to property or report of injuries.”

Gang detectives are investigating the incident.
