MOAB, Utah, May 16, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Grand County School District will be conducting critical-incident training exercises at schools in Moab Friday.

“Tomorrow afternoon the Grand County School District is conducting a critical incident reunification exercise that involves the Grand County Middle School and Grand County High School,” said a Thursday Facebook post from the Moab Police Department.

“Citizens should expect to see a large public safety presence at both schools and access to the schools will be restricted to participants of the exercise, including school staff, students and their parents. Please do not be alarmed and do not call 911. THIS IS ONLY A DRILL.”

Grand County Middle School is located at 439 S. 100 East in Moab and Grand County High School is at 608 Fourth E. St. in Moab.

“We are proud of our local school district for conducting this important exercise,” the post said. “Very few school districts conduct reunification exercises because they are so time and labor intensive, and doing so demonstrates the Grand County School District’s ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of Moab’s students.”
