IRON COUNTY, Utah, Nov. 21, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — An Iron County man has been arrested for allegedly messaging explicit content to a 13-year-old girl.
Cody Gene Ille, 34, is facing charges of third-degree felony enticing a minor by Internet or text, and third-degree felony dealing in materials harmful to minor — defendant 18 or older, according to a probable cause statement issued by Iron County’s 5th District Court.
The statement said that police received information from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force that Ille had been chatting on social media with a girl he believed to be 13 years old. The chat messages were reviewed and it was found they were “very sexually explicit in nature.” It was also found Ille had sent some picture messages that were also sexually explicit, the statement said.
A search warrant was obtained from the court for Ille’s home.
“Officers then responded to his home where he was located and placed under arrest,” the statement said. “Officers conducted the search of his home as per the search warrant.”
Ille was then transported to the police department where he agreed to answer questions after being read his Miranda rights.
“He stated in this interview that even after he knew she was only 13 years old that he continued his sexually explicit conversation where he wanted to touch her bare bum and breasts,” the statement said. He also admitted to sending her a sexually explicit picture.
Ille was then transported to the Iron County Correctional Facility and charged.
“Cody also stated that he has had sexually explicit chats with people on a regular basis, sometimes on a daily basis, however, he stated that this was the first time that he had ever had a sexually explicit chat with a person he knew to be under 18 years old,” the statement said.
Ille’s bail has been set at $10,000.
