JUAB COUNTY, Utah, May 1, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A deputy with Juab County Sheriff’s Office escaped serious injury Tuesday after he was involved in an accident while responding to a separate crash on Interstate 15.
A police vehicle driven by Deputy Virge Sickels was struck from behind by a semi as he was pulling off to check on some motorists in rainy conditions, said a news release from the Juab County Sheriff’s Office.
“Deputy Sickels was transported to the hospital and was released a short time later with only minor injuries,” the news release said. “His patrol vehicle on the other hand didn’t fair so well.”
