FARMINGTON, UTAH – September 18, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) — Popular Utah amusement park Lagoon has been named as Park of the Year by an industry periodical.

Lagoon was honored at the Amusement Today’s 2015 Golden Ticket Awards ceremony held at Luna Park in Coney Island, New York, on September 12. Lagoon received the Publisher’s Pick Golden Ticket Award for 2015 Park of the Year.

This award was personally chosen by Gary Slade, publisher and editor-in-chief of Amusement Today. Julie Freed, director of special events at Lagoon, accepted the award. Lagoon was recognized for demonstrating commitment to one of America’s oldest amusement parks by always improving the park and preserving a piece of Utah’s history. These prestigious awards annually honor the “Best of the Best” in the amusement industry.

Lagoon has been in operation for 129 years in Farmington and is America’s largest family-owned amusement park. This season, Lagoon introduced Cannibal, a one-of-a-kind, state-of-the-art steel diving coaster designed largely in-house.

Amusement Today is a monthly periodical that features articles, news, pictures, and reviews about all things relating to the amusement park industry, including parks, rides and ride manufacturers.
