Law Enforcement Using Unmarked Cars to Spot Aggressive Drivers
WASATCH FRONT, UTAH – June 5, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) In an effort to stop accidents caused by aggressive drivers, Department of Public Safety Commissioner Keith D. Squires spoke today about the dangers of driving in a manner that could cause a serious accident.
“Aggressive driving is a way of driving (any type of vehicle) in a manner in which the driver deliberately behaves in such a manner that it increases the risk of a road accident,” said Squires.
Utah Highway Patrol, along with several partners at Unified Police, UDOT and County Sheriffs, will be using officers working in unmarked cars along the Wasatch front in several counties along the Wasatch Front.
Weber, Davis, Salt Lake and Utah counties will all be a part of the operation. Unmarked vehicles will be driving along the Wasatch Front in high volume traffic congestion mostly along the I-15 corridor.
They are aiming to find those speeding at high rates and driving aggressively because they say both go hand in hand.
