Large vehicle fire causes $120k in damage, brings out Layton, Hill Air Force Base fire crews

LAYTON, Utah, Aug. 10, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Layton Fire Department crews and Hill Air Force Base firefighters responded to a blaze on Saturday afternoon.

The Layton Fire Department reported black smoke at the scene, at 3400 N. Fairfield Road in a tweet at 4:22 p.m. The initial report suggested the incident was a structure fire.

“Fire is contained and limited to tractor trailer & nearby equipment,” a subsequent tweet says. “No/limited damage to structure itself. Investigators beginning cause determination.”

Layton Fire Department tweeted later that there was no structural damage, and the dollar estimate of damage is $120,000. The cause of the fire is still undetermined, but is not considered suspicious,  the tweet said.
