LAYTON, Utah, Nov. 26, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) ─ Police in Layton have arrested a suspect wanted for stabbing a man Tuesday night during a fight.

According to Layton police, officers received an anonymous tip Thursday that 27-year-old Jacquan David Wilson, wanted for attempted murder, was at Layton Pointe Apartments, at 3798 East Morgan St., Layton.

When officers responded, a witness reported seeing a man matching Wilson’s description running into an apartment. Officers set up a perimeter, attempted to make contact with Wilson, and called for SWAT.

Wilson did not immediately answer the door or communicate with officers, but while officers waited for a search warrant, Wilson exited the apartment and surrendered peacefully.

Layton police had been searching for Wilson since Tuesday after finding a 32-year-old man who had been stabbed.

The victim, who was transported to an area hospital, underwent surgery Tuesday. An update on his condition was not available Thursday night.
