LOGAN, Utah, Oct. 4, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials in Logan are searching for the owner of a snake found slithering around in the area of 1700 E. 1000 North on Thursday morning.

“Hey friends and awesome animal detectives,” the Logan City Police Department said in a news release on Facebook. “We have a rather strange looking dog our Animal Control Officers impounded today. This guy (gal?) was found in the area of 1700 E. 1000 North trying to find a warm place to hide.”

The police department is keeping the snake in a safe place with heat and water.

The press release goes on: “OK, let’s be serious, someone is probably quite worried about their python right now. We are working to put together a healthy and safe environment for him but want to find his family and get him home asap.”

The owner of the snake or anyone who has information about the reptile is asked to contact the Logan City Police Department on Facebook or by calling 435-716-9300.
