Man Killed In Motorcycle Vs. Car Collision In Hurricane Identified, Driver Charged

HURRICANE, Utah, May 14, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A motorcyclist was killed after a collision with a car Friday afternoon in Hurricane has been identified and the driver of the car has been arrested for DUI.

Hurricane City Police said the accident happened at approximately 3:14 p.m. at the intersection of 870 W. 325 North.

When officers arrived Charles S. Vick, 64, the rider of the motorcycle, was unresponsive. He was transported by ambulance to Dixie Regional Medical Center in critical condition where he later died.

Robert J. Lounsbury, 51, of Hurricane, was arrested on charges relating to the fatal crash in Hurricane. Officers suspected Robert was under the influence of alcohol while driving and subsequently arrested for automobile homicide. Lounsbury has also been charged with DUI, failure to yield left turn and violating an alcohol restricted Drivers License.
