OGDEN, Utah, Dec. 29, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A 21-year-old man was sentenced for crimes against two South Ogden girls after he accepted a plea deal in the combined cases.

Jayden Becker Nelson, 21, was sentenced to one to 15 years in Utah State Prison in an abuse case where a female teenage minor was the victim.

In that case, Nelson pleaded guilty to one count of sex abuse of a child, a second-degree felony, in exchange for having two more identical charges dismissed.

In the other case, involving a 4-year-old girl, Nelson was sentenced to 15 years to life in the Utah State Prison after he pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual abuse of a child in exchange for having a second, identical charge dismissed.

Also dismissed in the case with the 4-year-old victim was a charge of sodomy on a child, a first-degree felony.

In both cases, Nelson was known to the family, and was in the residence with permission of the parents.

Nelson’s sentences will run concurrently, and the judge gave him credit for 60 days already served in the Weber County Jail.
