OGDEN, Utah, June 8, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — A former Box Elder County judge who pleaded guilty to multiple child sex crimes while he was on the bench has been sentenced to three prison terms of 0 to 5 years.

Kevin R. Christensen accepted a plea deal in April, and the Utah Attorney General’s Office dropped five other similar charges in Ogden’s 2nd District Court.

The sentences are for one charge of enticing a minor using the Internet and two charges of dealing in materials harmful to a minor. Christensen believed he was communicating with a 13-year-old girl when he sent sexual material and messages.

“Your Honor, I really messed up,” Christensen said to Second District Judge Catherine Conklin. “It will never happen again.”
