WASATCH COUNTY, UTAH – September 27, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Utah Highway Patrol has identified a man killed in an accident on SR-40 Sunday afternoon.
According to UHP, 56-year-old Douglas L. Bowles, of Fruitland, was driving on SR-40 around 4 p.m. when he attempted to pass a motorist on the right side of the highway. He failed to negotiate an upcoming turn and hit the guard rail on the ride side of the road.
Witnesses said Bowles was traveling at a high rate of speed when the accident happened. The man suffered fatal injures at the scene.
The UHP says the victim was not wearing a helmet.
