‘March to End Child Abuse’ set for Saturday morning in downtown SLC

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Oct. 4, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — The “March to End Child Abuse” and rally is set to begin Saturday morning at the Salt Lake City/County Building.

Participants will gather at 8 a.m. in front of the building, at 451 S. State St., according to an announcement by Protect Every Child on Facebook.

The rally will begin at 8:30 a.m., with an MC, music and survivor remarks, followed by keynote speeches at 9 a.m., the Facebook post says.

At 9:30 a.m., marchers will set off for the State Capitol, where there will be live music, and the keynote speeches will resume.

The event is scheduled to end at noon.

Saturday is also the first day of General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and Kanye West also is scheduled to bring his “Sunday Service” gospel-style concert to The Gateway Plaza at noon.

Anyone planning to be downtown on Saturday is advised to use public transportation if at all possible.
