Ogden crews battle garage fire

OGDEN, Utah, Dec. 5, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Ogden crews quickly brought a garage fire under control Thursday evening.

The Ogden Fire Department tweeted at 7 p.m. that crews had arrived at the scene of a detached garage on fire at 2862 Fowler Ave.

“Bystanders reported a garage on fire,” said a press release from Ogden Fire Department. “Upon arrival, fire crews found a detached garage, in the rear of a residential structure, with smoke and fire showing.”

Crews were able to make access and quickly extinguish the fire, in around 15 minutes. The fire was contained to the garage.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Damage is estimated at $15,000
at this time.

Eighteen firefighters from Ogden City and South Ogden City responded with three ladder
trucks, one fire engine, one paramedic rescue, one ambulance, one Battalion Chief and
one Deputy Fire Marshal.

There were no injuries associated with the incident. The homeowner is able to remain in
the home.
