OREM, UTAH, November 23, 2015 (Gephardt Daily, Kurt Hanson) ─ An Orem man has been arrested after reports he allegedly sexually abused a young girl for more than a year, according to Herald Extra.

According to a police report, an 8-year-old girl was brought into the Timpanogos Hospital Friday by her mother after she told her mom she had been sexually abused. Medical staff then contacted the Utah County Sheriff’s Office.

The report stated the victim’s mother told a deputy that her daughter said the suspect, Oscar Nunez, 32, had been inappropriately touching her.

The girl was then taken to Primary Children’s Medical Center for a sexual assault exam where it was confirmed by nurses that the child was sexually abused.

The victim also told an investigator that Nunez has been kissing her and having sex with her for about a year and a half.

Nunez was located and taken into custody Friday night. He was booked into the Utah County Jail on suspicion of one first-degree felony charge of rape of a child, one first-degree felony charge of sodomy on a child and one first-degree felony charge of aggravated sexual abuse of a child.

Nunez told officers he was aware of the allegations but denied any sexual involvement with the girl.
