HOLLADAY, Utah, March 27, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A 19-year-old self-confessed narcotics dealer was arrested Sunday after he allegedly pointed a gun at three strangers, according to the Unified Police Department.
A probable cause statement from the 3rd District Court of Salt Lake County said Haris Asim Saran is facing three counts of third-degree felony aggravated assault, one count of third-degree felony possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, one count of third-degree felony possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person and one count of class B misdemeanor use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
Saran was alleged to have pointed a firearm from the passenger seat of a vehicle at three victims near 5401 S. Wasatch Blvd. on Sunday.
“Inside the vehicle Haris was traveling in, a large quantity of marijuana, paraphernalia, a firearm and items consistent with drug distribution were found,” the statement said.
Saran admitted in a recorded interview after being read his Miranda rights that he is the owner of the marijuana, deals narcotics, possessed the firearm and pointed it out the window of the vehicle.
Asim Saran’s bail was set at $15,000.
