SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah, Dec. 10, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A Summit County man allegedly fell over a Christmas tree then discharged a gun 15 times at a homeowner and his son while intoxicated Sunday afternoon.

A probable cause statement released Monday by Summit County’s 3rd District Court said Randal Weed Dickinson, 56, who was born on Christmas Day, was arrested Sunday just before 3 p.m.

The probable cause statement said the suspect, who lived with the homeowner and his son but is not thought to be related to them, “was highly intoxicated in the residence and fell onto the Christmas tree while attempting to cross the living room.”

The homeowner assisted Dickinson to his room and told him to sleep it off.

“The suspect came out of his room and discharged a 9 mm firearm, 15 times at the homeowner and his son,” the statement goes on. “The bullets penetrated cabinets, counter, appliances and walls. The victims were able to disarm the suspect and pinned him until law enforcement arrived.”

Dickinson is facing charges of two counts of first-degree felony discharge of a firearm — shoot in direction of a person, one count of second-degree felony criminal mischief in excess of $5,000, two counts of third-degree felony aggravated assault, one count of misdemeanor B carrying a dangerous weapon under the influence of alcohol or drugs and one count of misdemeanor C intoxication.

His bail has been set at $60,000.
