Police on scene of shooting at South Salt Lake night club

SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah, Nov. 11, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — South Salt Lake City police responded to reports of a shooting at a popular night spot shortly before the bar’s 1 a.m. Sunday closing time.

When officers arrived at Scallywags, 3040 State St., they found one victim who had been shot, possibly with an assault-style rifle. That individual was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

The officers immediately called for backup and established a containment area.

The suspects were seen fleeing in a vehicle going north toward Interstate 80. Police were able to follow and stop the vehicle near the Ramada Inn at 2455 S. State St., about a five-minute drive from Scallywags.
