SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah, Jan. 18, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — A Salt Lake County man was arrested in the early hours of Friday after he allegedly fired a BB gun at a friend who was inside a taxi.

A probable cause statement from the 3rd District Court of Salt Lake County said Brian Levy, 24, is facing charges of:

  • Aggravated assault, a third-degree felony
  • Criminal mischief, a class A misdemeanor

The arresting officer responded to a call reporting a man with a gun at a 7-Eleven at 109 S. 300 East.

“I watched video footage of the incident, what I saw was the A/P (accused person) and the victim get into a verbal argument, the victim got into a taxi cab, the A/P then pulls out the BB gun and starts to shoot the victim inside of the taxi cab,” the statement said.

The victim was injured and the taxi cab window was shattered as well as the window to the 7-Eleven where the incident occurred, the statement said. The victim went to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

After being read his Miranda rights, Levy stated that he had a BB handgun and did shoot the victim with it.

He was transported to Salt Lake County Jail, where he is being held without bail.
