Sandy SWAT officer shot while serving search warrant

SANDY, Utah, Sept. 8, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — A Sandy SWAT officer was shot while serving a search warrant early Wednesday morning.

“Just before 5 a.m. a member of our SWAT Team was shot while serving a search warrant at Arcadia Apartments,” said a tweet from Sandy Police Department.

The officer is in stable condition, the tweet said.

An occupant of the apartment building was was also shot and is in stable condition.

The Salt Lake City Officer-Involved Critical Incident team is investigating the shooting.

“No danger to the public,” the tweet added. The public was advised to avoid the area, however, the scene is now clear.

The officer that was shot has not been identified.
