PLEASANT GROVE, Utah, July 11, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A small brush fire in the foothills of Pleasant Grove has been contained, officials said Thursday evening.

A tweet from Pleasant Grove City at 3 p.m. said the following:

“The fire in the foothills of Pleasant Grove, approximately between 1500 North and 1900 North, is now contained. A total of six acres was burned.”

Utah Fire Info said in a Facebook post Tuesday: “There have been 100 wildfires reported in Utah since July 1. That brings the 2019 season to a total of 256. Firefighters have made relatively short work of almost all of them. There is only one fire in the state actively burning as of right now: Skull Flat.”

The Pleasant Grove fire brings the total to 257.

For the month of July, more than 90 percent of all wildfires were human-caused.

“Show your commitment to preventing wildfires by taking the SPARK CHANGE Wildfire Prevention Pledge here,” the post said.
