Police searching for suspect after woman forced to ground, robbed in downtown SLC

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, April 2, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake City police are searching for a suspect after a reported robbery in downtown Salt Lake City in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A news release from the SLCPD said a woman was cutting down an alley in the area of 560 E. 300 South, just before 4:45 a.m.

“She was grabbed from behind and forced to the ground,” the news release said. “The male suspect injured her face and stole her purse with all its contents.”

The suspect fled the scene east on 300 South. He is described as Caucasian, heavy set, with a tattoo on his upper right arm.
