SSL Police Seeking Suspect In Armed Robbery and Assault on Pregnant Woman

SOUTH SALT LAKE, UTAH – August 28, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – South Salt Lake Police are looking for a suspect who robbed a store before throwing a plastic bottle at the pregnant clerks face causing injury.

According to officers, dispatch received a call Thursday evening around 8 p.m. on a call of an armed robbery at the Nutrizone Store located at 363 East 3300 South.

Upon arriving officers met with the 27-year-old female clerk who told them a man entered the store, brandished a gun and demanded money. After complying with the suspects demands, the threw a plastic bottle at her face and hit her lower lip, causing very visible swelling.

The suspect left the store on foot, with an undisclosed amount of cash, going westbound on 3300 south.

The clerk, who is four months pregnant was very shaken and upset. She was transported via ground ambulance to the hospital for observation.

The suspect was described as a white male in his mid 20’s, approximately  5”1”- 5’5” tall with sandy blond mid length hair wearing a black hat and a blue denim jacket with a grey hood.

Police are asking if anyone has any information about this incident or the identity of the male suspect to please call South Salt Lake Police Dispatch at 801-840-4000. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous and they are warning others not to approach him but to call police immediately.
