CEDAR CITY, Utah, April 5, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police who began searching for a man captured on video Wednesday night vandalizing Cedar City High School ended up taking the suspect into custody after they say he carjacked a vehicle, broke into a residence and raided the fridge for a bottle of orange juice before leaving.

The criminal mischief call came in just after 9 p.m. after a witness reported hearing someone in the school, smashing and breaking things. A surveillance recording showed the white man suspect firing a gun inside the school and shooting out windows.

A short time later, officials were notified of a carjacking in progress on the 400 East block of Parkway Boulevard. Officers learned that the suspect had stolen a vehicle at gunpoint, then fled on foot.

He then entered a home and took a bottle of orange juice before leaving, a statement from the Cedar City Police Department says. The suspect also tried to enter other homes, the statement says.

Officers from multiple agencies responded, and arrested the suspect at about 400 N. Main. He was taken to the hospital for a medical clearance and later booked into the Iron County Jail.

The suspect has been identified as 28-year-old Talon Sessions, from Thayne, Wyoming.
