SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Dec. 31, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — Full Trax service has resumed after a Trax train-vehicle collision Wednesday on Main Street and 200 South in Salt Lake City.
“It sounds to be pretty minor,” Gavin Gustafson, Utah Transit Authority spokesman, told Gephardt daily.
“I don’t know exactly what happened. It’s still under investigation. It’s one of a few areas where we don’t have a lot of cameras, but it’s quite common down there that people make illegal left turns going across Main Street. So it’s probably something like that.”
Gustafson said the driver of the vehicle was transported to an area hospital with possible minor injuries, “mostly as a precaution.” A passenger on the Trax train was checked out on the scene for what Gustafson described as a “bumps and bruises” type injury. The Trax passenger was not transported.
“The car was not severely damaged, but it was towed because the driver was taken to the hospital to get checked out,” Gustafson said.
Trax service either had resumed or would shortly, Gustafson said at about 5:05 p.m. Wednesday. He said that Trax riders should expect slight delays as a result of the incident.
