SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, June 24, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — Two men originally believed to be critically injured in an early morning crash east of Capitol Hill are now expected to survive with serious injuries.
The crash happened at about 2 a.m. near the intersection of Columbus Street and 500 North. A vehicle with two men inside crashed into a wall in front of a residence. The reason for the crash is unknown.
“Both of them were taken to the hospital,” Detective Michael Ruff, Salt Lake City Police, told Gephardt Daily.
“We don’t believe the injuries are life-threatening now. Now more time has passed, but the injuries were serious.”
Determining what led to the crash will take some time, Ruff said.
“That’s something that will be under investigation.”
