SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah, July 18, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — A man believed to have been struck by lightning while hiking in the Twin Peaks area was found deceased.
Salt Lake County Sheriff officials responded to the scene, as did Alta Marshalls, Snowbird Ski Patrol, the Unified Fire Authority and the Utah Department of Public Safety.
“First responders located the hiker, identified as a 59-year-old male,” the SLCo Sheriff news release says.
“The individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
The release said no additional information is being released at present.
