MIDVALE, Utah, Oct. 14, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — Unified Police officers are investigating a shooting between two vehicles Tuesday evening in Midvale that briefly shut down part of State Street between 8300 South and Princeton Drive.

Sgt. Aymee Race, public information officer for the Unified Police Department, told Gephardt Daily the call came in at approximately 5:42 p.m. reporting shots fired in the area.

“It looked like one vehicle shot approximately six rounds at another vehicle, but both vehicles took off,” Race said. “At this point we don’t have a victim vehicle, we don’t have a suspect vehicle.”

Race said the suspected shooter’s vehicle is believed to be a dark-colored, four-door sedan. No injuries have been reported, and no victims have come forward.

Officers closed State Street between 8300 South and Princeton Drive to collect evidence but expected to reopen the road once the on-scene investigation was completed.

The motive for the shooting remains unknown, and the case is under active investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Unified Police Department.
