Motorcyclist from Germany dies after hitting SR-24 guardrail

WAYNE COUNTY, Utah, June 17, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — A tourist from Germany died at the scene after he ran off State Route 24 in Wayne County, was thrown from his motorcycle, and hit a guardrail.

Udo Hubert Jumpers, 59, died as a result of his injuries. The incident happened at 2:07 p.m. Tuesday.

Jumpers was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle east, the Utah Highway Patrol news release says, and was near milepost 89.

“The rider failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the road to the right. The rider was thrown from the motorcycle and impacted a guardrail,” the news release says.

“The rider died from injuries on the scene. The rider was wearing a helmet.  The roadway was closed for about one hour during the investigation.”
